Terms of Service

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering into a binding contract to use our Services. By using PersonaBox, you represent that you meet these requirements.

You may need to create an account using Clerk to access certain features. You are responsible for:

• Keeping your account credentials secure.
• All activity that occurs under your account.
• Promptly notifying us of any unauthorized access or breach.

PersonaBox reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or disrupt the Service.

• Payments are processed securely through Stripe.
• Billing: Fees, terms, and renewal policies are described at checkout or in your billing settings.
• Taxes: You are responsible for any applicable taxes or fees.
• Cancellations: You may cancel your subscription at any time, and your access will continue through the end of your billing period.
• Refunds: Unless otherwise required by law, all payments are non-refundable.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful or misleading purpose.
• Attempt to copy, reverse engineer, or modify PersonaBox's software.
• Upload or share malicious code or infringing content.
• Use the Service to create or distribute spam, misinformation, or offensive content.
• Send newsletters or marketing emails to recipients who have not explicitly opted in to receive them, or use purchased, rented, or scraped email lists.

We reserve the right to suspend accounts engaging in prohibited activity.

When you upload or input content (including text, documents, or repository data) into PersonaBox:

• You retain ownership of your content.
• You grant PersonaBox a limited, non-exclusive license to process and analyze your content solely for providing and improving our Services.
• We do not use your content to train AI models or share it with third parties, except as necessary to provide functionality (e.g., with OpenAI, Anthropic, LlamaIndex Cloud, Supabase, Mastra, Resend, Mailgun, Cloudflare, Browserbase, E2B, GitHub, or Brandfetch).

When you connect a GitHub repository to PersonaBox for automated product updates, the following applies to your source code and repository data:

• Your code is never stored on PersonaBox infrastructure. Your repository is temporarily cloned into an isolated sandbox environment powered by E2B (a third-party sandbox provider). These sandboxes run on E2B's infrastructure — not on PersonaBox servers, databases, or file systems. We do not have access to your repository data outside of authenticated workflow sessions.
• Sandbox lifecycle and data retention. After the initial workflow run, the sandbox is paused (not immediately destroyed) so that you can return to edit generated animations via our video editing feature. While paused, the cloned repository remains on E2B's infrastructure for up to 25 days, after which E2B automatically and permanently destroys the sandbox and all data within it, including your repository clone.
• Ephemeral processing of diffs. PR diffs are fetched from GitHub, processed in memory during the workflow, and are not saved to our database. Truncated portions of the diff (up to 60KB) are sent to AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic) to generate marketing copy and visuals.
• What we do retain. Only AI-generated outputs are stored: marketing copy, screenshots, animation videos, and high-level codebase learnings (general patterns and insights expressed in natural language, not source code). These are stored in our database and retained for as long as your account is active. We do not use your source code or repository data to train any AI models.
• Isolated sandbox environments. Each workflow run uses a dedicated E2B sandbox — an isolated virtual machine with its own filesystem and network. Sandboxes are not shared between customers or workflow runs.
• Scoped authentication. GitHub access tokens are generated fresh for each workflow run, scoped to the specific repository installation, and are never stored in our database.

PersonaBox provides a newsletter feature that allows you to create and send email newsletters to your subscribers. By using this feature, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

• Email delivery via Mailgun. Newsletters are sent through Mailgun, a third-party email delivery provider. Subscriber email addresses, names, and engagement data (opens, clicks, bounces, unsubscribes) are managed by Mailgun.
• Your responsibility for subscriber consent. You are solely responsible for ensuring that all subscribers on your mailing list have explicitly opted in to receive emails from you. You must not upload purchased, rented, or scraped email lists. You must comply with all applicable email marketing laws, including CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and CASL.
• Domain configuration. When you set up a newsletter sending domain, PersonaBox configures a sending domain on your behalf to authenticate your emails.
• Unsubscribe compliance. Every newsletter sent through PersonaBox includes an unsubscribe link. When a recipient unsubscribes, they are automatically removed from your mailing list.
• Privacy policy requirement. You must provide a valid privacy policy URL before sending newsletters. This URL is included in the footer of every email you send.
• Email tracking. Mailgun tracks email engagement metrics (opens, clicks, bounces, unsubscribes, spam complaints) on our behalf. These metrics are available to you through the PersonaBox analytics dashboard.
• Newsletter content. Newsletter drafts, including text, images, and styling, are stored in our database. You retain ownership of your newsletter content.
• Subscriber limits. Mailing lists are subject to subscriber limits as described in your plan. PersonaBox reserves the right to suspend newsletter sending privileges if you violate email marketing laws or our Acceptable Use policy.

PersonaBox uses large language models (LLMs) from OpenAI and Anthropic to generate suggestions, marketing copy, and visual assets. When processing pull requests, truncated code diffs are sent to these AI providers to generate relevant marketing content. By using these features, you understand and agree that:

• Outputs may not always be accurate or appropriate.
• You are responsible for reviewing and validating all AI-generated content before using it publicly or commercially.
• PersonaBox is not liable for damages arising from reliance on AI outputs.
• Code diffs and repository context sent to AI providers are processed under their respective data processing terms and are not used to train their models.

All software, design, trademarks, logos, and content provided by PersonaBox are our property or licensed to us. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use them outside of our Services without written permission.

You may stop using PersonaBox at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if:

• You violate these Terms or our Privacy Policy.
• You misuse or abuse the Service.
• We are required by law to do so.

Termination does not relieve you of payment obligations incurred prior to the termination date.

PersonaBox is provided “as is” and “as available.” We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding accuracy, reliability, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PersonaBox and its affiliates are not liable for:

• Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
• Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities.
• Errors or inaccuracies in AI-generated content.

Our total liability for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount paid by you to PersonaBox in the preceding 12 months.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PersonaBox, its employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

We may update these Terms periodically. The updated version will be posted at personabox.app/terms with a new effective date. Continued use of PersonaBox after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

When using our Chrome extension, you acknowledge and agree that:

• You control what content is analyzed by explicitly selecting it on web pages.
• You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to analyze content from third-party websites.
• The extension only accesses page content when you actively use the selection feature.
• Selected content is temporarily stored locally on your device and is only sent to our servers when you request analysis.
• You may revoke the extension's permissions at any time through Chrome's extension settings.
• The extension requires certain browser permissions (storage, active tab access, scripting, cookies) to function properly, as detailed in our Privacy Policy.
